Art Envi turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a giant art gallery, with collections from the worlds best artists. It gives you easy, full-screen access to thousands of the worlds masterpieces, indexed by artist, along with information about the artists and their art. Plus you can add more.

From classics like the Mona Lisa and Botticellis Venus, to Rembrandts, Renoirs, van Goghs and Cézannes, Art Envi displays Web-based paintings the way you would expect on the iPhone: full screen, with multi-touch controls, in automated slide shows, Ken Burns effect moving pictures and scrolling image arrays. You can also add music to make your artistic journey more beautiful.

Want more art? You can add even more of our in-depth art exhibits directly from the app or from the App Store, including early, Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionist and Modern art as well as various artists. Or check out Art Authority. Art Authority includes more artists and works, indexing by period, ability to save images, access to in-depth information about each artist, and many other added features.

Please also check out our other Envi apps, all based on the acclaimed iEnvision Web-image browser. Classic and modern art and architecture, hot sports cars, cool haircuts, outer space from planet Earth to the furthest reaches of the Hubble, the great outdoors, and lots of just plain fun. Theres an Envi app for that!

Pros and cons of Art Envi app for iPhone and iPad

Art Envi app good for

This is great for anyone who enjoys good art, plus it is only 99¢! Of course, there are some improvements that would be really beneficial: 1. Ability to select favorites (Artists, Pieces) 2. Information on each piece. Say, instead of clicking the web button to go to a bio of the painter, it goes to a page with information on that specific painting. And next to the painters name in the list there could be one of those arrow buttons like in other applications that would take you to a short bio of that author in the app, with links to a more full bio and a button to add to favorites. 3. And I agree it is a bit slow so it would be nice to have it sped up a bit. Otherwise, great job!
this is a great app only thing missing is the name of the art works that you get. This is great for anyone interested in learning and revisiting those artists who are known and not so known but great to learn more works that you never knew you never knew.
This is the first review ive written for an app. Its very encouraging that there are people out there making such beautiful apps as this. I very much enjoy browsing through the artists, and getting such easy access to such masterpieces! Its obviously not perfect yet, but well worth its meager sum. Instead of complaining about its shortcomings, Id rather urge you to buy this app - lets show everyone with our dollars that this is the kind of stuff that should be made.
This is a fabulous ap. Like having an art gallery in your pocket. Best API have! I would love to see the artists style listed in the menu and name of piece as others have suggested. Great work, thank you!
I am very happy to see an app like this. My only complaint is that it is entirely (as far as I can tell) limited to painting, which excludes a very large and important part of the art world.
I love this app. Its like having an index of the Louvre at your fingertips..Well maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but a very nice app. to browse through while waiting in the Dr.s office.

Some bad moments

I like the app; however, the developer just came out with a so-called "Deluxe" and more expensive version to squeeze more money from his early adopters. This is crap. Dont buy this version. The Deluxe (which I refused to pay extra for) is just version 2 of this app. Apple should ban this practice which started when they change their policy of letting developers list minor bug fixes and changes as new apps that get listed first in the app store...... Slim Shady is alive and living in the app store! Hopefully, MacDADDY will be a good DADDY and SPANK his babies that are being NINO BROWNS! PS. The right thing to do is to give the buyers of this app their money BACK or a FREE UPDATE to the DELUXE UPDATE which they released a few days ago........
Im not happy with the lack of an upgrade path, or free upgrade to Art Envi Deluxe, which Art Envi should of been from the beginning, and then they could of come out with Art Envi Lite. And a day before they came out with Art Envi Deluxe I bought News Envi. Im waiting for the other foot to drop when News Envi Deluxe comes out with the features that should of been included with News Envi. This is the first bad experiance I have had with buying anything from the App store and I have 110 apps. I have a degree in Studio Art, and this type of business practice upsets me, because now I will not support this developer any more, and it could be a very usefull app for me.
